Good books, and disappointments

These days there are comments on (at least) 2 blogposts about the best/worst books on Norwegian book blogs.

At Beate everything is about the good books: write a list of the 5 best books you’ve read: I wrote a list and was happy that it was ok to skip books that other people had mentioned. It made things a little easier…

My list of literary favorites:
Galapagos / Kurt Vonnegut
The Gone-Away World / Nick Harkaway
Dalen Portland / Kjarstan Fløgstad (not translated into English)
Hunger / Knut Hamsun
The Dispossessed / Ursula K. Le Guin

At Elins’ “Av en annen verden” its all about the bad books: 5 bad books. Another hard task.

My list of literary disappointments:
The alchemist / Paulo Coelho
Lord of the Flies / William Golding
The Da Vinci Code / Dan Brown
The shadow of the wind / Carlos Ruiz Zafón
Ute av verden / Karl Ove Knausgård (not translated into English)

Do you have an opinion about best and worst books? Comments are welcome.
